Biographie

To this single name were ascribed three rondeaux copied in the manuscript OxfBC 213 soon after 1430 : Au temps vendra, Au grief hermitage and Tout a caup. These three ascriptions must refer to one composer, probably French-speaking, active in the 1420s.
Identification
This composer could be almost any musician active in the early to mid-15th century named Adam, not an uncommon first name at that time. Indeed, many candidates have been suggested in the literature over the years, such as Adam Meigret, Adam Fabri, Erasmus Adam, Adam Hustini de Ora, Adamo Grand (see their biographies). To them can be added Adam Hocquet, active as a minor vicar in Cambrai, who was well acquainted with Guillaume Du Fay. None of these identification seriously prevails on the others.
