Chapel of the cardinal Alfonso Carrillo, 1422-1424
He is described as a singer in the chapel of cardinal Alfonso Carrillo, papal legate in Bologna in 1420-1424 (Planchart 2018, p. 83, after the chapel singers' mentions in V-CVaav, ASV, RS 145, f. 259v-260; RS 157, f. 232, 271v-272; RS 161, f. 35v-36; RS 171, f. 260 "and several other supplications", ibid., note 169). A petition of Carrillo to Martin V on 10 July 1419 show that he already maintained a group of (unnamed) singers, for whom he asked that the pope renew the litterae de fructibus to them granted by Benedict XIII (ibid., referting to V-CVaav, ASV, RS 119, f. 127-127v). Planchart's article "Vincenet" for MGG (updated 2016) specifies that Vincenet was mentionned as such in 1423 in V-CVaav, ASV, RS 171, f. 260 (MGG online accessed 5 April 2025). With this single mention of employment, and since a document of 1421 mentions him without such a title and that he then appeared at the papal chapel in 1425, the duration of his service in Carrillo's chapel can be hypothetically extended to the whole years 1422 to 1424.

Papal chapel, 1425-1429
Haberl's and Schuler's accounts of Vincenet's service in the papal chapel have somewhat unclear dates, which have been clarified by Planchart's article "Vincenet" for MGG: he entered the papal chapel on 24 Dec. 1425 (V-CVaav, Fondo Camerale I, Registro 1711, f. 93) and served it until June 1429.

Ecclesiastical carreer in Lorraine, 1421-1447†
In a supplication issued in 1421, Vincenet declared himself a priester of the Diocese of Toul (V-CVaav, ASV, RS 154, f. 213), thus allowing to place his birth before 1396. In 1424, while in Italy, he already held benefices at the collegiate church of Saint-Gengoult in Toul and in the cathedrals of Toul and Metz (V-CVaav, Registra Lateranensia 246, f. 292v-293v, dated 24 April 1424 — on datation peculiarities of this document, see Planchart's article "Vincenet" for MGG). It is probably right after the end of his service in Rome that Vincenet retired in Toul, where he also served as a chaplain to bishop Louis de Haraucourt (V-CVaav, ASV, RS 380, f. 312).

Bibliographie : Starr, 1998

Commentaires : Three per obitum supplications issued in April 1447 at the pontifical curia attest to the death of the former papal singer, Johannes Vincenetius, as showed by Starr 1998, p. 179, n. 5, after V-CVaav, ASV, RS 416, f. 93v (17 April 1447, canonicate at the Cathedral of Metz), f. 119 (16 April 1447, canonicate at the collegiate church of Toul — P. Starr writes "in the collegiate church Dei Custodis in Toul" but the only collegiate church in Toul was Saint-Gengoult) and f. 223-224 (16 April 1447, canonicate at the cathedral of Toul). This kind of supplications was issued once the death of the holder of a benefice was known to a cleric who applied to be enthrusted with this vacant benefice. This delay is here estimated at 10 days (encoded as "before 16 April 1447", which is interpreted as "10 before" by the database, thus here in number of days).
