Biography

Ascription of the opening song of the 6th book of the Parangon des chansons published in Lyons by Jacques Moderne in 1540 (Pogue 1960, p. 161; RISM 1540/16). The song is a setting of Clément Marot's French version of psalm 137, Super flumina babilonis.

The only known musician in that period designated with the name Abel is Abel Patuges*, who might be the composer of this work.
